Cookie Blast by GameCreator is a game which features a cannon that has to shoot cookies down as they bounce in and out of the visible play area.

How to Play

You begin with a cannon that shoots bullets up into the sky. These bullets will always be shot up vertically, and will not fall due to gravity. This cannon has to shoot cookies in order to increase score and gain coins. There are 3 types of cookie; the small cookie, the large cookie (which will split into 2 small cookies which go in opposite directions when shot), and a pink, iced donut which always yields powerup drops. Some of the small cookies (including ones spawned from the large cookie) also drop powerups. Acquire more powerups to keep up with the increasing HP of the cookies. The game is terminated when the cannon is hit a cookie, subsequently crushing it.

Powerups & Shop System

Bullets - The bullet powerup is the blue powerup which increases the amounts of bullet fired. It does not change the frequency of the bullets, but rather the amount fired simultaneously. You start out with single bullets, then the first upgrade shoots a double bullet 1 out of 10 times, the next will send a double 1 out of every 9, and so on until you have every shot as a double bullet. After this, the process repeats, but with triple bullets. The bullet powerup is made redundant after every shot is a triple bullet, as this is the maximal upgrade. Upgrading starts at 10 coins and doubles until the final upgrade which costs 5120 coins. A maximum upgrade in the shop starts your game with every shot being double bulleted.

Laser - The laser powerup is the ruby red powerup which changes the bullets into a single, laser stream. The difference between the laser and the bullet is that the laser can fire at multiple cookies if they happen to align, whereas the bullet can only shoot at one cookie at a time. Upgrading the laser in the shop increases the duration of the laser. Upgrading starts at 10 coins and doubles until the final upgrade which costs 5120 coins.

Shield - The shield powerup is the white powerup which forms a white barrier around the cannon which prevents the cannon from being hit by the cookies. This is particularly powerful in combination with the laser as you can indiscriminantly stand right under a cascade of cookies and still be fine. When the shield is about to finish, it will flash on and off, warning the player. Upgrading the shield in the shop increases the duration of the shield. Upgrading starts at 10 coins and doubles until the final upgrade which costs 5120 coins.

Coins - Not a powerup in the game, but an upgrade available in the shop. Upgrading coins allows for more coins to be dropped upon shooting a cookie. Upgrading starts at 10 coins and doubles until the final upgrade which costs 5120 coins.

Bullet Damage - The Bullet Damage powerup is the green powerup which increases the amount of damage a bullet, or laser stream, can do to a cookie. This is not available for upgrades in the shop. This powerup becomes more powerful as the game goes on, as when one acquires triple bullets, the Bullet Damage powerup essentially increases damage by 3.

Strategy

Luck plays a part in success. At the initial stages, the green and blue powerups are most important. The blue powerup is most important when upgrading from 1 in 2 double/triple bullets to 1 in 1 double/triple bullets. The laser is best applied during the middle stages of the game, and may be viewed as somewhat ineffective in the late stages of the game. The shield becomes more powerful as the game goes on. When fully upgraded, one can have a constant shield through acquiring it repeatedly. The green powerup is the most important, and maintains its importance throughout the game. If the game provides it inadequately, it makes gameplay significantly more difficult. If you are struggling, then shoot the large cookies as early as possible, so that one of the cookies escapes the map quickly, leading to less congestion.
